311 Tour 2026

311, formed in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1990, established a distinctive sound by fusing elements of alternative rock, reggae, funk, and hip-hop. The band's core lineup has remained remarkably consistent, featuring Nick Hexum on vocals and guitar, Tim Mahoney on lead guitar, Chad Sexton on drums, P-Nut on bass, and SA Martinez on vocals and turntables. This stable configuration has allowed for a cohesive development of their musical identity, characterized by Hexum's melodic singing, Martinez's rhythmic rapping, intricate bass lines from P-Nut, and Sexton's versatile drumming, all underpinned by Mahoney's often effects-laden guitar work. Their sonic palette frequently incorporates reggae-inflected grooves alongside heavier rock riffs and vocal harmonies, creating a hybrid that is immediately recognizable.

Attending a 311 live show offers an experience that balances high-energy performance with a celebratory atmosphere. The stage production typically features dynamic lighting and visuals that complement the band's eclectic sound, enhancing the mood of each song. Their setlists are known for their expansive nature, often drawing from their extensive catalog of albums rather than strictly adhering to hits, ensuring a diverse and engaging journey through their discography. While they have played large amphitheaters, 311 often opts for venues that, while substantial, maintain a connection between the band and the audience, fostering a communal feel that is central to their live appeal. This approach allows both long-time fans and newer listeners to experience the nuances of their music in a vibrant setting.

Throughout their career, 311 has achieved several notable milestones that underscore their impact on alternative music. Their self-titled 1995 album, often referred to as "The Blue Album," contained several of their most enduring tracks and became a touchstone for their sound. Subsequent releases continued to build on this foundation, solidifying their reputation for genre-bending creativity. They have been a consistent presence on festival lineups, sharing stages with a wide array of artists across various genres, which speaks to the broad appeal of their music. Their ability to craft memorable songs that blend catchy melodies with intricate rhythms has allowed them to maintain a dedicated following for decades.

311 occupies a unique space within the broader music landscape, appealing to a diverse audience that transcends typical genre boundaries. Their blend of rock, reggae, and hip-hop attracts listeners who appreciate musical fusion and rhythmic complexity. Fans of bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sublime, and Incubus often find common ground with 311's sound, drawn to their energetic performances and positive lyrical themes. The live audience tends to be enthusiastic and engaged, often singing along to every word and dancing to the band's infectious grooves. It's a crowd that values musicianship and the shared experience of live music, creating an inclusive and uplifting environment.

A typical 311 concert usually runs for approximately 90 minutes to two hours, depending on the specific tour and venue. They often feature one or two opening acts, which can range from emerging alternative bands to established reggae or rock acts, carefully chosen to complement 311's own style and warm up the crowd. Expect a mix of standing and seated areas, depending on the venue, but most fans prefer to be on their feet, fully immersing themselves in the music and the energy of the performance.
